After making waves for having the highest number of prints made for a Tamil film, Dasavatharam, the most awaited flick of the year will once again create a record on June 13 for releasing in more than 134 screens in Chennai and the surrounding suburbs alone. According to trade pundits, this is the first of its kind in the Tamil film industry.
Talking to the newspaper, producer Oscar Ravichandran, who has just returned from Tirupati after performing a special pooja for the film’s reel at Lord Balaji’s shrine, confirmed that the film is scheduled for 87 shows in Chennai alone. For the suburban movie complexes Mayajaal and Prarthana, the movie will have 2 shows respectively. Even Rajinikanth’s Sivaji was released only in 30 screens, revealed the spokesperson for Mayajaal.
